Pen and Ink Drawing – Landscape Sketchbook #8

Hmm, so dear readers, somehow this last forty five days, I somehow ended up forgetting the fact that the blog is named, “Sketches By Nitesh.” I know, I’m an idiot. Don’t shout. Too much writing and too little sketching. Well, I enjoy both of them equally. Now considering the fact that I focused solely on one story (Which isn’t meant to be a love story), this particular week, I need to catch on my sketchbooks.

Well, to start off this week, here’s one sketch done with equal domination of ink and graphite. My favorite mediums.

Venice canals Sketch - Pen and Ink Drawing

Do let me know what you think of it.

Hmm, how about I tag this with this week’s photo prompt, after all, sketching is my little corner in this world.

Portrait Sketchbook #7

I really love drawing with ink. No doubt about that, right? Hmm, so a while back, one of my friends asked me why I add this hatched lines and not simply try to give more realistic details. Alright, my answer went something like this, “Am I taking a picture or guiding my creativity, huh, you idiot. You can click realistic photos from your smartphone, I’m going to add hatched lines as long as I draw, because it takes skills to know where to add those scratchy hatched lines, idiot.”

See, I told you, I’m quite rude.

Portrait Sketchbook #6

Well, this one is specifically for you, Vandana. I chose an apt post to link too (another inside joke, I’m quite good at them).

Well, I don’t think I need to say this but I’ll say it nonetheless, I’m a huge Batman fan. Yeah, I know, no shit. After all, I write too dark, think too dark, listen to the music that’s too dark, like to draw in black (I hate working with anything other than pens). So, It wouldn’t have been much of a shock to know I love the whole Batman franchise.

So, what’s Batman without Joker? What is life without challenges? Hey, this sketch gives me an idea, “The necessity of evil.” Well, I’ll write the necessary jargon for evil tomorrow.”  Pinky promise.

Hmm, Joker. so here goes one of the most brilliant lines said by the arch-enemy of our dark knight.

To them, you’re just a freak, like me! They need you right now, but when they don’t, they’ll cast you out, like a leper! You see, their morals, their code, it’s a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They’re only as good as the world allows them to be. I’ll show you. When the chips are down, these… these civilized people, they’ll eat each other. See, I’m not a monster. I’m just ahead of the curve.

Now I definitely need to write that post.

The Nine Face Monster

Ta-da, As promised. Well actually, not as promised. After all, I did say no Slipknot for today. But then again, I’m a heretic after all, aren’t I? Had too much fun drawing this, took me around three hours. a stretch perfectly complimented by Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses and .5: The Gray Chapter.

So step inside and see the devil in I. Told you, I can’t ignore Slipknot. #maggot for life.

Still needs some work here and there, but that’s a story for another day.

Portrait Sketchbook #5

So, my dear readers, as promised, here is the first of the sketches I did today. I’m planning on finishing atleast ten. Let’s see how far we can go. Don’t forget I also need to write the chapter twenty-four of “A Love Story?” based on today’s Daily Prompt, “Trance.”

While we are talking about “Trance,” why not upload a portrait of a girl looking as if she is lost in her own head, in a trance. I know, terrible joke.

Either way.

Portrait Sketchbook #4

Well, tomorrow is Sunday and for this week, I’m not planning for a Slipknot Session (I know, most of you just took a sigh of relief) but rather I’ll be doing a binge session of sketching (If that is what it can be called). So get ready to be bored with atleast 7-8 pen and ink sketches tomorrow.

‘Til then, enjoy this particular sketch done as part of my portrait sketchbook.
